Ok, let's get real about one of the oldest myths in the book— that vegans can't get enough protein. 🤔💪

THE MYTH: The belief is that plant-based diets are lacking in protein, making it difficult for vegans to meet their nutritional needs without animal products.

THE REALITY: Contrary to popular belief, plant-based diets can provide just as much protein as diets that include animal products. In fact, many plant foods are rich in protein! Here's the scoop:

Why It's Cool: Plant proteins come with extra perks like fiber and antioxidants.

Pro Tip: Mix different plant foods to get all the essential amino acids. Think rice and beans!

This week, we’re whipping up a Millet Salad, swapping out couscous for millet to boost fiber and protein.

This easy, weeknight-friendly dish is bursting with vibrant veggies and herbs, all tied together with a creamy tahini dressing!

If you’re looking to pump up your protein intake, here are 5 great plant-based swaps to try.

  • SNACK SMARTER: Trade those potato chips for a handful of roasted chickpeas or almonds. Crunchy, satisfying and protein packed!

  • PASTA SWAP: Ditch regular pasta for lentil or chickpea pasta. Same great taste, but way more protein!

  • SPREAD THE LOVE: Use hummus or tahini as a spread instead of mayo or butter. Delicious and protein rich!

  • RICE REDO:  Instead of white rice, try quinoa. It’s a complete protein and super easy to cook.

  • OATMEAL BOOST: Add a scoop of plant-based protein powder to your morning oats. A simple satiating meal that will keep you full for hours.
